CHOCOLATE OREO CAKE
This Chocolate Oreo Cake recipe is to die for! A moist chocolate cake complete of Oreo icing! And not simply any Oreo icing it is complete of beaten up Oreos. An Oreo lover’s dream.

Oreos were considered one of my favourite cookies for in all likelihood forever. I truely love them. The filling is the excellent component. I don’t even trouble eating a ordinary Oreo. most effective double stuf here.
I’ve seen the brand new mega stuf ones, however haven’t tried them. i have been tempted so many times, but now that I bake so much I just can’t. If I’m going to permit myself to flavor the things I make, I cannot be downing an entire container of Oreos too.
INGREDIENTS
CHOCOLATE CAKE
- 2 cups (260g) flour
- 2 cups (414g) sugar
- 3/4 cup (85g) natural unsweetened cocoa powder OR Hershey’s Special Dark Cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup (240ml) buttermilk
- 1 cup (240ml) vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup (240ml) boiling water
OREO ICING
- 1 1/2 cups (336g) butter
- 1 1/2 cups (284g) shortening
- 8-9 cups (920g-1035g) powdered sugar
- 3 cups (414g) Oreo crumbs (about 33 Oreos)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 6-7 tbsp (90ml-105ml) water
CHOCOLATE GANACHE
- 6 oz (1 cup | 169g) semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- Oreos, optional
INSTRUCTIONS
- put together 3 8 inch cake pans with parchment paper circles in the bottom, and grease the sides.
- add all dry elements to a big bowl and whisk together.
- upload eggs, buttermilk and vegetable oil to the dry elements and blend well.
- upload vanilla to boiling water and add to aggregate. mix properly.
- five. Divide batter among 3 cakes pans and bake at 300 degrees for about 30-33 minutes, or till a toothpick comes out with some crumbs.
- dispose of desserts from oven and permit to chill for about 10 mins, then remove to cooling racks to cool completely.
- Make icing while cakes cool. Beat collectively butter and shortening until smooth.
- Slowly upload 4 cups of powdered sugar and mix until easy.
- nine. upload vanilla and Oreo crumbs and blend till smooth.
- upload another 4-five cups of powdered sugar and mix until clean. add water or milk till you get a smooth consistency.
- Set apart about three half cups of icing for the filling inside the cake and upload chopped Oreos, if using.
- once cakes are cool, take away cake domes from top with a big serrated knife.
- area first layer of cake on cake plate. spread 1/2 of the icing with the chopped Oreos on pinnacle in a good layer.
- upload second layer of cake and add the rest of the of icing with chopped Oreos on pinnacle in an excellent layer.
- upload very last layer of cake on pinnacle and frost the outside of the cake with ultimate frosting. experience unfastened to use my tutorial for a way to frost a smooth cake.
- To make the chocolate ganache, upload the chocolate chips to a medium sized bowl.
- heat the heavy whipping cream just till it starts to boil, then pour it over the chocolate chips. allow it to take a seat for two-three mins, then whisk till clean.
- Drizzle the chocolate ganache round the edge of the cake, then pour the the rest of the ganache on pinnacle of the cake and spread frivolously. i love to apply a squeeze bottle for drizzling around the rims.
- permit the ganache to firm up a chunk, then pipe the remainder of the frosting around the top fringe of the cake and upload an Oreo between every swirl. I used Ateco tip 847.
- Sprinkle some Oreo crumbs onto to the cake, if favored, then serve. Cake is high-quality when nicely blanketed for 3-four days.
